SPECIAL EVENT COORDINATOR - PART TIME

CLOSING DATE: November 2, 2025

PAY RATE: $18.00/hour

SCHEDULE: Variable hours to accommodate special event needs. Up to 25 hours week, with the exception of some Summer events where more hours may be required.

DEPARTMENT: Office of the City Administrator

JOB SUMMARY
  • Perform light office work
  • Assist the Special Events Manager with day-to-day operations
  • Assist in setup, operation and teardown of events
  • Interact with event attendees in a friendly, engaging manner
  • Assist in identifying sponsorships for events and programs
  • Assist in creating new events
  • Serves as vendor liaison and coordinator
  • Works closely with parks maintenance to ensure cooperation for events.
  • Coordinates promotion of activities and recruitment of participants for volunteer efforts and department-wide ventures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
RESPONSIBLITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma and six (6) months experience in event planning
  • Strong communications skills - both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with multiple social media platforms
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - personal vehicle preferred
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
