Seasonal Parks Crew Lead



CLOSING DATE:  Open untill filled

STARTING WAGE: $14.00 per hour


STATUS: Seasonal/Temporary, up to 40 hours a week.  The job goes through the end of October.

DEPARTMENT: Parks Division, Public Works Department

JOB SUMMARY: Lead a crew in performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of recreational facilities, parks, grounds, roadways, park strips, and city buildings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school plus two years of experience in caring for buildings and grounds with a wide range of skills; including but not limited to general landscaping, irrigation maintenance, and custodial work; ability to manage a crew of one to four seasonal laborers; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; ability to communicate verbally and in writing; skilled in operating and maintaining maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, backhoe, loaders and hand tools; ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, subordinates and the public; will be required to pass a drug test and back ground check.
